Forestry meetings scheduled for Wayne County Woodland Owners
Starting in December, the N.C. Cooperative Extension Wayne County, along with Mount Olive College and NCWoodlands, will host a series of forestry workshops for Wayne County landowners. The project, entitled “Saving the Family Forest,” received funding from NC Tobacco Trust Fund Commission. The workshops are designed for woodland owners who are interested in increasing their profits while enhancing their natural resources. Topics that may be covered:
· Forestry Management Plans and Present Use Value Property Tax Program
· How Changes in the Tax Laws Affect You and Your Forest
· Maximizing Your Timber Sale Income
The workshops will be held in the Wayne County Center (208 West Chestnut Street) in Goldsboro. A reminder will be sent before each meeting, but interested landowners should save these dates:

The December 6th workshop begins at 6 p.m. with a meal served. To register, contact Wayne County Extension at (919) 731-1521.
The NC Tobacco Trust Fund Commission provided funding support for this project. Meals are sponsored by the NC Chapter of the Association of Consulting Foresters, NC Tree Farm Program, and AgCarolina Farm Credit.
