Savor the Good, Survive the Bad

Want direction? Want to live life full of RESULTS with little REGRET? Want to age with GUSTO?  Then you’ll need to have a positive attitude!

Hundreds of books and millions of words have been written on the importance of a positive mental attitude. Every book on success ascribes a positive mental attitude as being the key ingredient to success. Many professional athletes actually retain sports psychologists as part of their entourage to help them achieve and maintain a positive mental attitude.

Who is helping you to achieve and maintain a healthy attitude? What tools or resources can you acquire to help you stay positive? The real challenge is to maintain a positive attitude when all is not right. After all, when is everything right? Not very often! Life can be challenging and present you with situations which can test your positive outlook on life. When this happens your thoughts may become unhealthy and negative.

My friend, Johnny Bullins, a motivational speaker refers to this as “Stinking Thinking”. Stinking thinking is a term used to describe unhealthy thought patterns, which involve negative ideas about yourself and others. You are molded by the choices you make, so your thoughts are the determining factor that shape what you become or what you achieve.

Everything that you do and say has a charge. So everything you put out, positive or negative, will attract that energy. Most people do not like to be around negative thinking people. They drain your enthusiasm and passion for life. You say “good morning” they say “what’s good about it”?

Negative thinking can contribute to ill health and depression.  It‘s just as easy to be
happy and positive as it is to be unhappy and negative. Simply change your attitude and produce priceless results. Try redirecting your energies to focusing on what you can achieve instead of the hurdles along the way. Dream of success and be enthusiastic. Use positive words when talking with others and always smile. Studies show people with these characteristics are winners in good times and survivors in hard times.

The key to being successful in life is positive thinking. Believe that you can and you will achieve what you set out to do. Your beliefs drive your motivation and, ultimately, your destination.  Your ATTITUDE is the wind beneath your wings. Transform your attitude from negative to positive, and you will finally realize your full potential.

Thoughts to ponder:

Trust yourself. Create the kind of self that you will be happy to live with all your life. Make the most of yourself by fanning the tiny, inner sparks of possibility into flames of achievement.

 ~ Foster C. McClellan

Watch your thoughts; they become words. Watch your words; they become actions. Watch your actions; they become habits. Watch your habits; they become character. Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.
