Mother helping her children plant container gardensWe are back with another gardening kit for you and your family focused on fall crops. During the month of August, N.C. Cooperative Extension will provide a way to help families start or maintain their garden in a fun way through this project. The goal of the 4-H Family Gardening Kit is an opportunity to bring families together to learn how to grow vegetables using container gardens. 

Each kit will include:

  • Variety of radish and kale seeds
  • Gardening trowel 
  • Online access to educational videos and resources provided by the N.C. Cooperative Extension of Union County staff
  • Plus, face-to-face educational workshops will be held this fall to help you during your gardening experience

The cost is $10, but free to families in need of financial assistance or those who participated in the previous gardening kit program. Fall Family Garden Kit Registration is required from August 17–August 27, 2021. 

Families will pick up their items on August 30 at 6 p.m. The location will be announced upon the closure of the registration.
