Description: The conference will focus on "maternal values" and will feature two speakers, Dr. Vitor Mercadante and Dr. Jordan Thomas.
Dr. Mercadante, assistant professor and extension specialist from Virginia Tech University, will address two topics: Breeding Systems for Profit and Managing Females for the Long Term. Dr. Thomas, assistant extension professor with the University of Missouri, will discuss, Selecting Fertile Heifers.
In addition to the education sessions, there will also be a trade show highlighting various segments of the beef cattle industry. Vendors representing pharmaceutical companies, feed, mineral, and supplement suppliers, cattle handling equipment dealers, seed stock producers, and others will be on site ready to answer questions about their products and services.
Producers can register in advance ($15) or at the door ($20). Lunch will be provided for all in attendance.
