The N.C. Cooperative Extension, Cumberland County Center announces the upcoming November Better Living Series workshops. The focus of the November workshops will be “Home for the Holidays.” The November series will include an antique tractor and equipment tour, a tour to Homewood Nursery to enjoy a wide variety of poinsettias and one cooking workshop, which will be held at the Cumberland County Center Demo Kitchen, located at 301 East Mountain Drive. Preferred registration is by Eventbrite at the links provided. For registration assistance, contact Susan Johnson at 910-321-6405. Refunds only if the class is canceled by Cooperative Extension staff.

November: Home for the Holidays

Ederville Tractor Tour

Friday, November 3,  from 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (Transportation provided)

Located in Carthage, Ederville is home to one of the largest collections of antique farming equipment and tractors on the east coast. Join us as we step back in time and see how agricultural technology has progressed. Lunch is on your own. Food vendors will be on site. Transportation is provided. Registration and registration fee of $25 are due by October 27. Limited participants.

Holiday Hand Pies

Wednesday, November 8, 12:00 noon-2:00 p.m.

It is that time of the year when we make all those holiday treats that our family and friends enjoy! This class will be full of lots of fun as participants learn to make a variety of hand pies to taste and take home for the holidays. Registration and registration fee of $12 are due by November 3. Limited participants.

Homewood Nursery & Poinsettia Tour

Wednesday, November 22 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Join us as we tour one of the largest retail producers of poinsettias in North Carolina. Homewood Nursery, located in Raleigh NC, produces over 30,000 poinsettias and does extensive variety trials for the poinsettia industry. Lunch is on your own. Transportation is provided. Registration and registration fee of $12 are due November 20. Limited participants.
