Join the NC State Extension Master Gardeners℠ of Wayne County and Extension staff for the 2026 Great Southeast Pollinator Census.
Stop by the Extension gardens, located next to the Farm Credit Farmers Market (3114 Wayne Memorial Drive in Goldsboro), anytime between 10am and 3pm on Friday, August 21st.
A single count takes just 15 minutes, and we will supply all the materials you need. People of all ages and skill levels are welcome to participate-no prior insect identification experience is required!
What is the Census?
The Great Southeast Pollinator Census is a citizen science project created by the University of Georgia in 2017. N spanning six southeastern states, the project tracks insect populations and promotes pollinator conservation across the region.
Can't Make Our Counting Event?
No worries! You can complete the Great Southeast Pollinator Census anywhere on Friday, August 21st and Saturday, August 22nd. Visit the Participating in the Great Southeast Pollinator Census in NC page to download the official datasheet and learn how to conduct a count from your own backyard.
